-The ‘U’ symbol stands for ‘Universal’. A ‘U’ film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. However, it is impossible to predict what might upset a particular child, especially at this lower end of the category range.

- No strong sexual or violent scenes shall be shown.
- Films that would pass a U certificate film are targeted at a younger audience like the film toy story.
- No drugs shall be shown unless there shown in a anti- drug way.
- People who are more of a young age tend to watch these films.
